As mentors during yoga teacher training, Jen and Erika started a wellness book club. One month, the book club read Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet and during the discussion Jen asked Erika, "Wouldn't this make a beautiful picture book?" to which Erika enthusiastically agreed. Jen and Erika got together monthly to meditate, connect with nature through forest bathing and healing modalities, and read The Prophet. They used the inspiration and creativity this sparked to adapt the text and illustrate the book.
